Steve Sandor

Steve has been working as a K-8 teacher Franklin, NJ since 2003. He is currently teaching 5th grade Language Arts through the lenses of social studies and science. From 2006 to 2011, Steve developed and implemented a school-wide cross-curricular Enrichment program for the district. His work with students in video production and photography led to several student projects that received recognition in the NJ State Teen Arts Festival. Steve also served as the school play director from 2003 to 2010.

Steve is currently studying History in William Paterson University’s Graduate program. He also holds an Ed.M in Supervision and Administration, and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Rutgers University in New Brunswick.

Steve’s love of history, culture, travel and exploration have lead him to travel across five continents, and included a year of teaching English in Taiwan in 1999.

About Steve Sandor

Steve has been working as the principal of the Marion P. Thomas Performing Arts & Culinary (PAC) Academy since September 2019. As the Instructional Leader of PAC, Steve and his team of school leaders support 70 staff members and 537 students. They work together with students, parents and community partners to build a shared vision of success, excellence and pride within the school community centered around the celebration of the artistic and academic talents of each scholar. Steve's previous experience includes serving as a vice principal for Newar Public Schools at BRICK Peshine Academy in Newark from 2015 to 2019. Previous to his role in administration, Steve taught for 12 years in rural Sussex County in where he taught students in grades K to 8 at the Franklin Elementary School. Steve also developed and implemented a school-wide Enrichment program for the district and served as the school play director from 2003. Steve holds an Ed.M in Supervision and Administration, and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Rutgers University in New Brunswick.
